Pressure accumulator BMW E60 M5 E63 M6 SMG III
Our refurbished pressure accumulators are equipped with a filling valve and freshly filled with nitrogen gas. The accumulator is responsible to store the pressure of the SMG system for later access by the actuators. The piston type accumulator has two cells: one cell storing the hydraulic fluid and one cell containing a gas to create counterpressure. Both cells are separated by a moving piston. A broken accumulator causes the pump to prime permanently. Important: You will need to pay a core charge (deposit) of 200,00€ which will be refunded when you return your used part.
Pressure sensor BMW E60 M5 E63 M6 SMG III
The pressure sensor measures the hydraulic pressure in the accumulator. Based on this value, the SMG enables and disables the hydraulic pump to fill up pressure. This is a brand-new original part.

The pump supplies the hydraulic pressure for the different consumers (actuators) of the SMG and stores it in the pressure accumulator. The pump consists of a small gear pump and an electric motor. If the pump motor fails, pressure is lacking in the system and the SMG cannot perform any clutch operations or gear changes.

Shifting Solenoid Valve BMW E60 M5 E63 M6 SMG III
New shifting solenoid valve for E60 M5 and E63 M6 SMG III hydraulic unit. There are 2 of these valves responsible to modulate shifting force. The valves are located on the top of the transmission, rear side. A faulty shifting solenoid valve can cause problems during shifting. The car may refuse to shift to one or more gears.
Temperature sensor BMW SMG III
The temperature sensor is located on the hydraulic unit of the M5 / M6 SMG III and measures the temperature of the hydraulic fluid. Due to its location in a high temperature area, the sensors suffers often from damage and is a common problem.
Wiring harness SMG III
The wiring harness of the SMG III connects the control unit, the pump, sensors and acutators.
